My Goals for 2019

We’ve successfully made it through a full week and a half of the new year! How is everyone’s goals going so far? I hope after reading the tips I shared on Tuesday we are all CRUSHING our goals!

Today I thought I would share my own goals I have planned for this year and a couple extra tips on how to stick with them!

Sometimes when we have so many different goals from maybe wanting to build muscle or redecorate our house and they are all scattered and unorganized it can be really overwhelming. I think one of the most important things when it comes to achieving anything is having extreme focus and the same goes for goals. One of my friends planned her goals out in a brilliant way this year! She chose one word for the year and is focusing on that word for every aspect of her life. I think this is genius so I stole her idea haha!

The word I chose for 2019 is FIGHTER. I chose this word because in 2019 I really want to push myself in every aspect of my life. In 2018 I feel like I was putting a lot of limitations on myself and telling myself a lot of stories that are just not true at all. “You can’t do this…” or “You’ll never have this…” It’s all just lies! I’ve never been one to give up, but in 2018 I feel like I did not push myself as much as I could have. Once I reflected on 2018 and realized that I knew I had to make a change RIGHT NOW.

This is how it will look:

1. In Relationships

This is probably a forever process, but this year I want to fight for improving each one of my relationships whether that be with my son, boyfriend, family, strangers, myself etc. We all have our own faults and weird habits we bring into relationships and I just want to become more aware of those and fight to improve at least 1% every day!

2. In Health

I started getting serious about my health about four years ago. I’ve been consistently working out and eating healthy (mostly) since then. I mostly only did cardio for the longest time, but recently I’ve gotten into lifting and I am in loveeee! Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way super built or anything lol! I’m still a beginner, but it’s the best feeling ever getting stronger and stronger! This year I want to push myself more in the gym and toward my fitness goals to see just what my body is really capable of!

3. In Career

In 2018 I decided to do a little bit of a career shift. I decided to move from a marketing position then to a recruiting position and discovered neither one was really my passion. I started working toward a career in Interior Design and I am so excited about that. It’s something I’ve been obsessed with since I was little! This year I’m turning that dream into a reality and so I want to make sure I am working really hard every day towards that goal. There’s no reason why by at least the end of this year I should be established (mostly) as an interior designer so long as I fight for it!

4. Just for Fun

Finally, this is kind of been an ongoing goal for a while now that I want to continue into 2019. I believe in constant growth and I want to make sure I continue to do that this year. I want to continue to be self-aware of my own faults and work towards being a better version of myself. I can’t control everyone else, but I can control my own shortcomings. I always want to continue to push myself to learn and try new things constantly. Life is way too short and there are way too many amazing things out there to learn and do and I just want to try them all! I want to be more knowledgable and a little bit more self-aware each and every day!

Bonus: If I can get Matthew potty trained by the end of this year that would be amazing! haha!
